The SEO sitemap tool with an electrician example
The video above demonstrates the power of my SEO sitemap tool by using electrician keywords as an example. It also has some great nuggets about local SEO – my example is of an electrician who wants to rank their website in Pasadena California.
However, you don’t have to be an electrician to benefit from the video. It will benefit any business owner or SEO interested in ranking their website.

What is an SEO Sitemap?
It’s a map or blueprint of all the pages your website could rank for and should have. Just like a builder has a blueprint for a house, so an SEO should have a sitemap before building pages.
Here’s what an SEO sitemap looks like:
Why should I care about an SEO Sitemap?
You should care if you want to maximize your SEO efforts. If you don’t have an SEO sitemap, you are likely flying blind.
Here are 3 great reasons to get an SEO Sitemap:
1. Sitemaps ensure you do the most important thing first
If you are shooting from the hip in writing SEO content, you might be prioritizing pages with low search volume. Instead of making content for low volume pages, you could be making content for high volume pages (By volume I mean the volume of people who search for that kind of page per month).
2. Sitemaps help you make better-informed decisions
An SEO sitemap condenses information and makes it easier to see everything at a glance. It’s a little harder to do that with just a Google Sheet where you might have to scroll a long way to get insights. As a result, you’ll be able to see the big picture and make better decisions for ranking your website.
3. Sitemaps bring organization and peace of mind
When you have an SEO sitemap, things are just more organized, and the path extra clear. It will unclutter your SEO plan and be something much easier on the eyes than a thousand keywords on a Google Sheet.
What does my SEO sitemap Google Sheet do?
There are a lot of repetitive things about creating an SEO sitemap (e.g. addition and ordering). But, thanks to Google Sheets and ChatGPT, I’ve made a sheet that shortcuts the drudgery! It takes raw data you enter, and spits out everything in the order you will enter it in your sitemap!

What tool should I use to make my sitemap?
I use a tool called Figjam. However, there are other tools like Whimsical that are wonderful as well. If you’d like more ideas, do a Google search for “whimsical alternatives” or “mindmap software.” That should give you some helpful tools.
I’ve finished my sitemap – now what?
That means it’s time for you to start writing! I’ve created a 2-part series that takes you from zero to doing full-blown SEO for your website. I would start here with the first video of the SEO series to get started.
Making sitemaps sounds complicated – can you do it for me?
I sure can! Give me a call at my number in the sidebar or send me a message. I’m happy to help you with your SEO marketing needs – even if we never do business together.
